Sloan Rangers!

Cait, Gibson, Anne & other happy painters!
Sunday was spent at Carte Blanche learning some great techniques with the Annie Sloan paint.  Anne & I were totally absorbed in the workshop & Cait was a fantastic & talented tutor. Learn more about the workshops that Cait & Gibson offer at their website, http://www.decoratescotland.com/index.php
Paint sample boards
We learned how to give texture and how to make grain just with the paint. Cait showed us how to apply metal leaf (I was a bit too enthusiastic with my burnishing and managed to rub most of my gold leaf off!). My favourite was the crackle effect which I am attempting at the moment on a small side table and hopefully will have a photo to show soon!

After a great lunch, we stencilled and decoupaged.  The paint is so versatile and the colour palette is endless when you consider that you can mix the paints together to suit your own scheme.

For example on Annies website she explains how to colour combine Old Violet to create the paint effect seen on this bureau.
Parisian Painted Desk I am currently planning a demo day for the Annie Sloan paints, so as soon as a date is confirmed I will post it on the blog & Facebook page.
